| Jezi sat on the dock, her back to the Dragon and her crew. She was waiting for either a passenger or a new crew member, she needed both, and honestly she hoped they wouldn't have to resort to pirating this soon. The company was still on their scent from the last job, and that was too much trouble to shake so soon.
She lifted her eyes to the sky. The colors of the sun set were forming a beautiful dance across the sky. She opened her mouth and started to sing again. Her tenor voice drifted across the docks.
"The King and his men stole the Queen from her bed, and bound her in her bones. The seas be ours and by the powers, were we will we'll roam.
Yo ho, haul together. Hoist the colors high. Heave ho, theif and begger Never say we die."
It was the pirate way of letting others know that she was looking for a new crew. She didn't want honest men getting caught in her troubles.
"Hey Captin" Her first mates, long curly blond hair came into view framing a face that was both beautiful and calculating. "Maybe we should move on, looks like no one is coming."
"Just a bit longer, Cady." Jezi said, calling water from the sea to dance in her hand. She could control water, it was something she had gotten from her father, and her father in law. "Tell the boys, to stop whatever they are doing in the hold." She called up to Cady. Her mother's sense was tingling and that meant two or more of her children were up to no good.
"Just a little longer." She whispered. |

| Yami was walking a long the dock looking for work. He didn't care what kind of work as long as it took away from this hell hole of a town. As he was walking Yami heard a woman's voice singing. He stopped and glanced around. He saw where it was coming from and approached her. Yami saw a boat was behind and he knew at once she was a pirate. Could she be looking for crewmen? He didn't have being a pirate in mind, but it was better than living in this town.
"You looking for crewmen?" he asked the woman. |

| Jezi pushed herself to her feet. She was starting to show, her latest pregnancy. "Mayhap." She said placing her hand on her sword. She wasn't sure of what to make of the man in font of her. "We're not the most honesty of folk, and we tend not to linger in one place for long." She said her eyes on the sea as if a monster were going to rise out of it at any moment. "As long as you aren't with the company you're welcome aboard my boat." She said laying a hand on the blood red side of the Dragon. "The Dragon here is the fastest ship on the water, and she's never leave ya stranded." She eyed the man again. "So you signing on for a tour or just buying passage?" She asked her hand now resting on her extending belly as the twins inside started to fight each other. "Not even in the world and already fighting." she smiled and shook her head. " So what'll be good sir?" |

| As he meanders down the docks, a bit squiffy, having just left the pub, he hears the song as well, and, smiling and whistling along, follows the sound until he finds the ship, and he walks up the gang plank. "So, I hear ye be lookin' for a new deck hand, Cap'n. Well, ye found yerself a man willing to apply." His voice is a deep, mellow tone, and as he speaks, he is resting a hand on the hilt of his cutlass. His attention is drawn to her slightly swollen stomach, and he nods at it. "That be a mighty big handicap 'board a ship in a fight." He pulls his rucksack off, sets it on the table, and pulls out a piece of parchment, a quill, and an ink pot before putting his rucksack back on. "I wish to sign on as a hand." |

| Jezi looked from one man to the other. "Aye we are looking for deck hands. Two of me older boys have gone off to start their own company, so I find my crew short a couple hands." She scoffed at the comment about her condition being a disadvantage in battle. "I beg to differ my good man. Ye ever hear of an honest man hurting a woman heavy with child?" She said making her way to the table.
"So if it's a tour ye be looking to do, make yer mark here."She pointed to the book on the table in front of the gang plank. "Be warned sir, I have daughters on board and if I so much as think ye be looking at one o'em to long I will remove you from my ship, no matter if we be at dock or not."
As a mother Jezi was extremely protective. She wouldn't tolerate new members of her crew trying anything with her children girls or boys. Not on her boat. "We're about to make sail young man." She said turing to Yami. "If ye wish to board now is the time to choose."

| He nods and signs the book. "Aye, that be true, but the bilge rats our kind cross blades with are all but honorable." He turns to her and looks her dead in the eye. "Cap'n, I be measured for me chains before I would so much as turn me deadlights at yer girls." He puts the quill, ink pot, and parchment back in his rucksack before slinging it back over his shoulder. "Cap'n. Where do I stow me gear?" He gestures to the rucksack slung across his shoulder with a shrug, and leans against the railing of the ship. |
